Let’s find out about idols’ plans for this year’s Chuseok holiday.
“Prepare for world tour/new album, busy even on Chuseok”… BLACKPINK · NCT 127 · Stray Kids
BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa), which is about to release their second full-length album “BORN PINK” on Sep 16th, will give up this year’s Chuseok holiday and focus on preparing for the new album. This album is drawing attention in that it is a new album released by BLACKPINK about a year and 10 months after the first full-length album “THE ALBUM” (2020).
BLACKPINK entered the 22nd place on the U.S. Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100” with their pre-released song “Pink Venom” released on Aug 19th, raising expectations for the title song of their second full-length album. It is said that the members give up this year’s Chuseok holiday and focus on practicing for a more perfect comeback stage. Accordingly, expectations are high for BLACKPINK’s second full-length album to be released on Sep 16th.
NCT 127 (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Haechan, Jungwoo), which will make a comeback on the same day as BLACKPINK, also spends the holiday in the practice room. They will release their fourth full-length album “2 Baddies” on Sep 16th and hold a comeback show at 8 PM on the same day at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2’s Hall 7 in Ilsan.
NCT 127 said through their agency SM Entertainment, “As the new album is about to be released, we plan to spend this Chuseok preparing for our comeback. We are excited to meet fans after a long time. All the members are practicing hard to show great music and performances, so please look forward to us.” They did not forget to greet fans, “We hope you have a great Chuseok with your loved ones.”
On the other hand, Stray Kids (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, HAN, Felix, Seungmin, I.N) are sweating in preparation for additional World Tour concerts scheduled to be held at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul on Sep 17th and 18th. Starting with Seoul in April, they continued their world tour in Newark, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, Anaheim (America) and Kobe, Tokyo (Japan). In particular, their additional concerts in Seoul are meaningful in that it is the first concert to announce Stray Kids’ entry into KSPO DOME.
Member Lee Know confessed through his agency JYP Entertainment, “Chuseok, the national holiday, is approaching. STAY (Stray Kids’ fandom name), I hope you put aside your daily worries for a while and spend a happy time with your loved ones during this holiday. I want you to see the big full moon and make wishes. I hope all your wishes come true. Have a nice Chuseok.”
“Recharge while eating delicious food with family”… BTS · TWICE · aespa · NewJeans
BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook), which declared a temporary suspension of group activities and is focusing on individual activities starting with the anthology album “Proof” released in June, will celebrate Chuseok this year. An official from the agency Big Hit Music told Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today, “BTS members will spend time resting and preparing for individual activities during the Chuseok holiday.”
After the Chuseok holiday, it seems that they will start to prepare for the Busan concert scheduled for Oct 15th. BTS, which was selected as a goodwill ambassador for the 2030 Busan World Expo in July, decided to hold the concert “BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN” at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium as one of the promotional activities for the bid to host the Expo. This concert is a full-group concert of BTS, which has suspended group activities. It is drawing keen attention from domestic and foreign ARMY (BTS’ fandom name).
TWICE (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu), which released their 11th mini album “BETWEEN 1&2” on Aug 26th and is active with the title song “Talk that Talk”, will have time to recharge during the Chuseok holiday. Member Nayeon said through her agency JYP Entertainment, “This Chuseok, I plan to enjoy eating delicious food with my family. ONCE (TWICE’s fandom name), eat a lot of delicious food and have a plentiful Chuseok.“
TWICE, which debuted in October 2015, established themselves as Korea’s representative girl group by releasing numerous hit songs such as their debut track “Like OOH-AHH”, “CHEER UP”, “TT”, “KNOCK KNOCK”, “SIGNAL”, “YES or YES”, “FANCY” and “Feel Special”. TWICE, which is in the eighth year since their debut, showed off their strength as they set their own record by surpassing 1 million pre-orders with “BETWEEN 1&2”.
aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, Ningning) and NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein), which are attracting attention as “the 4th generation’s representative girl groups”, will also spend this Chuseok holiday with their families.
aespa has been on a roll as their second mini album “Girls” (released in July) sold 1.64 million copies and ranked third on the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200” – the highest ranking among K-pop girl groups this year. This Chuseok holiday, the members will leave their busy schedule behind and spend time with their families.
aespa said through their agency SM Entertainment, “This Chuseok, all the members will rest well and eat delicious food. We’ll take this opportunity to rest and recharge hard so that we can show you more powerful performances in the future. We hope you all have a fun and happy time with your loved ones while eating delicious holiday food.”
NewJeans, which swept the top spot on various music sites and won music broadcast trophies with the first title song “Attention” of their debut album “New Jeans”, will also take a break after completing their debut album activities. NewJeans said through their agency ADOR, “It’s meaningful because it’s the first holiday since our debut. We are going to have a break this holiday. We hope everyone has a happy and enjoyable holiday.”
