The main characters of “Squid Game” got together in the United States.
“Squid Game” director Hwang Dong-hyuk as well as actors Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Anupam Tripathi and O Yeong-su attended the last day of the Netflix FYSEE event held in Los Angeles, California on June 12th (local time).
What drew attention was the appearance of O Yeong-su, who had not appeared at events related to “Squid Game”. Earlier, O Yeong-su became the first Korean to win “Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film” at the 79th Golden Globe Awards held in January.
However, he was unable to attend because Netflix publicly boycotted the Golden Globe Awards and the actor himself was also appearing in the play “Last Session”. Several awards ceremonies were held after that, but O Yeong-su did not show up.
However, the production of season 2 has been officially announced, and it seems that he made a public appearance to commemorate “Squid Game”, which set various new records on Netflix. With the 74th Emmy Awards confirmed to be held on September 12th (local time), attention is also being paid to whether cast members, including above-mentioned people as well as Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae and Kim Joo-ryoung, will attend the awards ceremony.
Meanwhile, director Hwang Dong-hyuk officially announced the production of “Squid Game” season 2 on the same day.
