Actor Park Hae-jin opened a new chapter in acting with MBC’s Saturday-Sunday drama “From Now On, Showtime!”.
“From Now On, Showtime!”, which ended on June 12th, is a romantic comedy between Cha Cha-woong (Park Hae-jin), a magician and employer of ghosts, and the passionate but hot-blooded female police officer Go Seul-hae (Jin Ki-joo) with supernatural powers.
In the drama, Park Hae-jin’s communication, regardless of the genre was right. In the current life, he played the cool-headed magician Cha Cha-woong, and in the previous life, he played Pung-baek, a chief priest who was in charge of a country.
His performance, which clearly distinguishes Cha Cha-woong in the present life and Pung-baek in the previous life, proved his true value. While going back and forth between a charismatic magician and a graceful chief priest, he showed the delicacy of accurately reflecting the “same yet different” atmosphere in his acting.
In addition, viewers laughed out loud at Park Hae-jin’s “virgin loser” romantic performance, which had to challenge comedy, action, thriller and even fantasy acting, in “From Now On, Showtime!”. Viewers were fascinated by his comic appearance, which exuded a sense of absurdity.
As such, Park Hae-jin showcased different acting styles through 16 episodes of “From Now On, Showtime!” and proved that he had grown one step further as an actor.
