Netflix’s “Sweet Home” revealed the news of Season 2 and 3’s productions and cast lineup at the same time, signaling a spectacular comeback of the series.
Netflix announced that they would produce Season 2 and Season 3 of “Sweet Home 2” through their official SNS on June 15th. The lineup of cast actors who will participate in the project this time was also unveiled.
First, Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si and Park Gyu-young, who brought overwhelming tension in the first season, confirmed their reappearance. Hyun-soo (Song Kang), who escaped from Green Home but got arrested by the soldiers, as well as Sang-wook (Lee Jin-wook), Yi-kyung (Lee Si-young), Eun-yoo (Go Min-si) and Ji-soo (Park Gyu-young), who left Green Home after struggling for a long time with the burn scars disappeared for no reason, are raising the viewers’ curiosity about what kind of story they will tell in a world where monsters and humans are mixed.
Yoo Oh-sung, Oh Jung-se, Kim Moo-yeol, and Jin-young will join as new characters. Yoo Oh-sung, who has shown his strong presence in every work, is expected to add weight to “Sweet Home” as Tak In-hwan, who leads the Special Forces Guard established to protect people from monsters. Oh Jung-se will take on the role of Dr. Lim, who studies vaccines. Kim Moo-yeol will play Kim Young-hoo, a former UDT sergeant and the second-in-command of the Guard. Meanwhile, Jin-young will appear as Private Park Chan-young of the Guard.
However, the greatest regret is that actor Lee Do-hyun was not seen in the cast lineup of “Sweet Home” Season 2 and 3 announced by Netflix this time. In the previous season, Lee Do-hyun played Lee Eun-hyuk, one of the main characters, and drew favorable reviews by showing impressive performances with his solid acting skills.
Season 1 of “Sweet Home”, which was produced based on the famous webtoon of the same name, gained compliments for its intense story portraying the struggles of Green Home residents when having to face their neighbors who turn into monsters. In particular, the fact that various human groups and monsters were shown at the crossroads of desire and survival raised the intense atmosphere, arousing enthusiastic responses from fans around the world.
Director Lee Eung-bok and the production team of “Sweet Home” Season 1 will work together again for Season 2 and 3. Earlier, director Lee said, “Season 2 will be set in a new place. I think we can solve all the things that were technically left unanswered in Season 2”, heralding a new journey in “Sweet Home”, which will return with new seasons.
