LE SSERAFIM achieved the best performance among the girl groups that debuted this year.
LE SSERAFIM performed the last broadcast of their debut song “FEARLESS” on SBS’ “Inkigayo” on June 5th. The members, who went on stage wearing black suits, expressed their affection towards fans by showing big hearts on the inside of jackets and sending hand hearts during the choreography. After the broadcast, they posted on their official SNS, “It was really a dream-like five weeks. We’ll work hard so that we can meet our fans with a better image. Thank you so much for watching the activities of the first album until the end, and we love you.”
LE SSERAFIM, who released their first mini album “FEARLESS” on May 2nd, achieved remarkable results on Korean and foreign album and music charts, standing out among new girl groups. They were honored to enter the U.S. Billboard chart eight days after their debut with the title song “FEARLESS”. In addition, on May 3rd, they entered the “Global Top 200” chart of the world’s largest music streaming company Spotify, setting a record for the shortest time among girl groups’ debut songs.
The song ranked 10th on the Melon Daily Top 100 chart on May 29th, recording the highest position among girl groups’ debut songs released this year, and maintained No.10 on the chart on June 4th. “FEARLESS” showed a clear rise in the rankings on Korean music charts as promotional activities continued. Thanks to this, LE SSERAFIM was said to have succeeded in securing popularity.
The debut album “FEARLESS” sold a total of 307,450 copies during the week of its release, breaking the record for highest 1st-week sales of any girl group debut album. LE SSERAFIM became the first team to surpass 300,000 copies in sales during the first week with the debut album. The album was also popular in Japan. It topped the Oricon weekly combined album rankings (counting period: May 2nd~8th) and the Oricon daily album rankings on May 20th.
MV “FEARLESS” surpassed 10 million YouTube views in about 19 hours after its release, achieving 10 million views in the shortest period of time among new girl groups’ music videos released this year, and has about 74 million views as of 8 AM on June 6th. On May 10th, the group surpassed 1 million followers on the global short-form mobile video platform TikTok in the shortest time among girl groups that debuted this year. Also, LE SSERAFIM’s “FEARLESS” won 4 trophies on music shows: SBS MTV’s “The Show” (2 weeks in a row), KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” and MBC M’s “Show Champion”.
