Feds Searching For Firearm Smuggled Into Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Where R. Kelly And Ghislaine Maxwell Are Being Held
It’s been a week since feds have been searching for an alleged smuggled gun, so far nothing has been found.
The federal Bureau of Prisons learned last Tuesday that a firearm may have been smuggled into Sunset Park’s Metropolitan Detention Center, spokeswoman Kristie Breshears said.
“The BOP received critical information that a firearm may have been introduced into the Metropolitan Detention Center,” Breshears said.
A BOP special operations team searched the jail, ransacking cells and checking inmates and correctional officers.
Convicted sex traffickers R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell are currently being held in this facility and both are set to be sentenced later this month.
One of R. Kelly’s victims recently came out to protest his proposed 25 years sentence. According to her, it’s too low. “He’s destroyed so many lives for so long that I don’t even think. I think 25 is too low to be quite honest with you. I mean, we deal with residual side effects like we have to live with this forever.”
”You know, it’s not something that just goes away. Lock him up and throw the key away and or put him under the jail forever.”
