Director Choi Dong-hoon, who created “The Thieves”, “Tazza” series and “Assassination”, will return with a science fiction film.

According to CJ ENM’s announcement on June 13th, Choi Dong-hoon’s new movie “Alienoid”, which cost more than 40 billion won to produce, will premiere on July 20th.

“Alienoid” depicts the story that begins when the gates of time open between the swordsmen who want to seize the legendary divine sword in the late Goryeo Dynasty and people who chase alien prisoners imprisoned in a human body in 2022.

The movie drew keen attention from its production stage because of its spectacular cast lineup with many famous stars, such as Ryu Jun-yeol, Kim Woo-bin, Kim Tae-ri, So Ji-sub, Yeom Jung-ah, Jo Woo-jin, Kim Eui-sung, Honey Lee, Shin Jung-geun, Lee Si-hoon, etc.

In the movie, Ryu Jun-yeol plays the role of Mureuk, a master swordsman who tries to get the divine sword. Kim Woo-bin appears as Guard, who manages the escort of alien prisoners while Kim Tae-ri plays Lee Ahn, a woman who shoots thunder.

So Ji-sub is expected to show enthusiastic performances as Moon Do-seok, a detective who is chased by aliens for an unknown reason in modern times. Honey Lee will portray a character who is curious about the identity of the Guard.

In the newly released trailer, the characters with their own individuality, spaceships, and robots appeared one after another, raising the movie fans’ expectations.

The trailer begins with a huge spacecraft crossing over the city center. It is revealed that aliens trapped their prisoners in human bodies a long time ago. However, some alien prisoners imprisoned in human bodies escape and turn the city into hell in an instant.

Guard, who can travel back and forth between the Goryeo Dynasty and modern times, struggles to prevent aliens from harming people after escaping from human bodies.

Attention is focused on whether “Alienoid”, which impressed the public with its extraordinary production scale and splendid cast, will gain as much love as “The Roundup”, which recently became a “10 million” movie.
